Marty Reed moved to Asheville 7 years ago with her husband of 31 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont and a master’;s degree from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. Marty served in the Peace Corps in Malaysia and is active with the WNC Returned Peace Corps Volunteer organization. Marty started Capital Bankcard Asheville about a year and a half after arriving in Asheville. The parent company was founded in New England over 20 years ago. And Marty is fortunate to have mentors for this business model who are now located in Florida. Capital Bankcard Asheville is a merchant services provider for new and existing, large and small companies. Whether they are mobile, or virtual, in person retail or e-commerce, Capital Bankcard Asheville has a solution. During the pandemic, merchants found themselves needing to accept credit and debit cards. No one was using cash. And that has carried forward. Unfortunately, other providers were and continue to take advantage of merchants by charging high fees.
